What I do...
I make awesome websites for your company or personal brand.
How I do it...
Through hours behind the computer screen tweaking and perfecting your site.
I start every project from scratch. There's no shopping around for themes and charging you for it. I'll walk through every inch of your site with you so it's exactly what you envision. That process takes a bit longer, but your internet presence needs to be as detailed as the business you run back in the office. Take a look at what it takes to make this happen.
You might only need a few pages, or you might need a vast E-Commerce website. The first step in the process is to gather all your assets and fit them into the puzzle.
After we organize all your assets, then we get to drawing everything out (yes with pencil and paper). Rough sketches of what you or me imagine will only speed the process along.
Here's where you start to see your site take shape. If you don't like something or want to see it slightly different, let me know. This is your site, you deserve to be picky.
Wordpress is one of the most popular content management systems (cms) around. This allows you to take control and post, edit and update most of the main features on your site if you choose. It also allows me to completely customize your site with endless possibilites.
This is what everyone who visits your site will see. I want them to "oooh" and "ahhhh" with each new page view, but it also has to function across all browsers in a way that's engaging and informing to your users. I'll stay up to date on all the latest trends, conventions and technologies so you don't have to.
This is everything your visitors won't see, won't care about, and probably don't know about. The skeleton that holds your site in place will determine how fast your site loads and if I do my job right, you won't notice this part at all.
Websites aren't about fancy color schemes, 3 column layouts, or responzive images. They're about communicating information to people like you and me. This starts with your content, and I reach out personally to meet with all my clients. I try and sit down and draw out (yes on paper) what your site needs to be.
The most important people in my world are the visitor to your site. My goal is to create an environment where aesthetics and funciton intersect for each individual user. Color schemes, branding, interactive features, and site organization all play an important part in the usability of your site.
Making a web page responsive means that across browser window sizes your site and all it's contents look the same. No matter if it's on a phone, tablet or a 27in iMac your site will look and feel the same. It's easier said than done, but more and more people will look at your site on a phone first, then come back on their home computers later. I'll keep the site looking similiar across all devices.
You might have a lot of content to communicate on your site. You might want 11 pages with 7 different sub-pages, but more often than not you don't need that many pages. I'll go through each section of your site to make evvery paragraph, heading and title easily understood and readable for your user.
Made from Scratch Code
No Squarespace, theme hunting, or pre-made template purchases here. I create each website from free base-level templates and then strip them of everything your brand doesnt need. Sometimes it's a lot, sometimes it's not as intensive, but this allows me to customize your site how you see fit. Any web designer worth his/her salt will work the same way.
I'm a visual storyteller with a master's degree in communication. I like to ride bikes, be outside and watch netflix with my wife and cat.
